Last weekend I was at Kollapscamp 2026 and did a workshop on how to break free from Big Tech. The workshoptent was very full and participants had many, many questions and left the workshop – I hope – with specific ideas on what they can do technology wise in their own life and in their organisations in order to break free from Big Tech. My main takeaway was that even in this collapse aware group the awareness on the need to break free from Big Tech was mostly there, but the urgency seemed not to be clear to quite some participants. I sincerely hope that my presentation has helped them to understand the why (and its urgency) and the how.
