deSHITtify’s mission is to help Dutch/Europe-based individuals and small-to-medium-sized organizations break free from tech dominated by the US and its shitty deals, shitty-quality services and unbridled surveillance. The risk of being fully dependent on US tech is simply too high, especially when we see that society collapsing before our eyes. Therefore, it’s both important and urgent. As if that weren’t enough, the US tech bro’s monopolies actively support the rise of totalitarian regimes, fascism and the genocide in Gaza. You simply don’t want to be supporting that team.
deSHITtify is here to help you migrate to nearby or self-hosted services, preferably those based on open-source software. We also support initiatives to improve the user-friendliness of open-source software.

Why deSHITtify?
Enshittified US tech
Over the past 10 years the mostly US-based tech monopolies like Google, Apple, Meta, Amazon and Microsoft have degraded tremendously in terms of value for money and quality of service. In other words: Shitty deals and shitty quality. And also difficult to leave.
We do not need to accept our lives to be enshittified by US tech bro billionaires. There are alternatives that are becoming good enough now.
US imbalance
The US is in turmoil at this moment. We are currently seeing that society collapsing before our eyes. It’s definitely not the place where you want your technology services to be completely dependent upon.
It is essential to understand that US tech bro billionaires are especially driving the rise of totalitarian regimes & fascism, the disrespecting of human rights and supporting the genocide in Gaza.
It’s is time to move out and it is urgent.
Unbridled surveillance
The technology services that you are fully dependent upon use all of your online behavior, data and more for more purposes that you could ever imagine and that you never gave your consent for.
Big brother is now and it needs to stop.
Peace of mind
Migrating your technology to a place nearby of even in-house will give you peace of mind in the sense that you’ve actually done what is within your power to be less dependent on however the situation in the US will be developing in the future. It’s also a way of saying no to the political agenda of the tech bro’s and the unbridled surveillance that comes with it.
